Recommendation on how to choose kite lines for your kites!
Please choose the right kite line for your precious kites. This is important!
Whenever you fly a kite, please ensure the line can hold your kite and the wind.
The following are recommendations for line/kite match ( kites are measured by wingspan):
Kites below 7ft: 40lb~100lbKites below 9ft: 100lb~150lbKites below 13ft: 150lb ~ 250lbKites below 16ft: 200lb~300lbKites above 16ft: >300lb
The recommendations above are for ordinary kite flying.
It requires extra attention that kite shapes, kite spar material, the vent part of kites… all details of kites will contribute to your decisions for kite lines.
For example, delta kites of 7ft only need a 100lb kite line, but Rokkaku (hexagon kite) of 7ft needs a 250lb kite line since their venting methods are much different.
The stronger the wind, the higher the line strength is required. Always choose a stronger kite line in high wind.

High Abrasion-Resistance
One of the best advantages of Kevlar line. It helps avoid many unexpected string snaps which happen a lot in binding, fastening objects or uses near sharp edges.
Flame Resistant
Kevlar doesn’t melt and only decomposes at relatively high temperature.
Low Stretch, Least Creep
Stretch annoys much in applications like kite flying control, especially in control of stunt kite or traction kite. Kevlar cords have extremely low stretch and don’t create creep even after long time loading.

How to seal the end?
Kevlar doesn’t melt and self-sealed like nylon or polyester.
After cutting, use a tape to seal the end or simply tie a knot.
