All of the standard apps that support CarPlay are available. For navigation, you can choose from apps like Apple Maps, Google Maps, Gaia GPS, and REVER, among others. You can pair it to your helmet communicator, then listen to music through your favorite app, make phone calls, or listen to and dictate text messages.

GTRUI MT686 includes all the bells and whistles of a modern portable touch screen.The mounting hardware is RAM mount-compatible, and comes with several options. Mounts for your mirror, brake or clutch fluid reservoir, or U-bolts for a handlebar mount are all included.

Hand Free & Voice Command

Android Auto and CarPlay can be used wirelessly, so you just pair the devices and then keep the smartphone in the pocket or the backpack. The interface should load automatically, and you can then interact with Android Auto and CarPlay using touch and voice.

You can use a headset to talk on the phone and listen to voice guidance in Google Maps by connecting via Bluetooth to the device.

The screen is surprisingly sharp and clear. It’s also bright enough to see in direct sunlight. There is a dimmer “button” on the main screen that you can press to dim it at night. You can adjust the exact brightness level of both of these settings. But the brightness doesn’t change automatically, but it’s easy enough to change it manually.The device also integrates additional ports for a microSD card. Tire pressure monitoring is also available with an optional transmitter.

IPX8 Waterproof Rating

As anyone can guess, the biggest challenge for such a device is to withstand the changing weather conditions. GTRUI MT686 sports an IPX 8 rating, which means it should withstand dust and a water splash, though you’re not supposed to submerge it into water.

Brightness 1,000 nits

The 6.86-inch LCD screen has a resolution of 1280×480 pixels and features a maximum brightness level of 1,000 nits. In theory, you should be able to see what’s on the screen even in direct sunlight.
